Born that way

About 60 percent of all the wealth in America today is inherited, according to estimates by economist Thomas Piketty and his colleagues. That’s because, under U.S. tax law – which is itself largely a product of lobbying by the wealthy – the capital gains of one generation are wiped out when those assets are transferred to the next, and the estate tax is so tiny that fewer than 0.2 percent of estates were subject to it last year.

If unearned income were treated the same as earned income under the tax code, America’s non-working rich wouldn’t be billionaires. And if capital gains weren’t eliminated at death, many heirs wouldn’t be, either.

Lucky sperm club is not attainable in this life.

Better luck next time.

Or we could tax the wealthy and actually enforce anti-monopoly laws, inside trading laws and stop letting the wealthy buy politicians.

America seems pretty dumb.

Pretty dumb
Pretty dumb
Pretty dumb
Pre-tee dumb

We could be a really cool society

A healthy civilization
But bullshit is so fertile
and anger feels so good

I thought love conquered all
The natural world doesn't play those rules
and human animals are just as beautiful and brutal

Here's to someday using these human brains of ours

Assault crimes won't sway Republicans' laser focus on criminalizing health care

An "illegal" raped a little girl.  A ten year old child who had to drive to another state to get an abortion.

A politician focuses on criminalizing the doctor instead of the rapist.  The doctor that helped the traumatized little girl.

Republicans care more about usurping health care than horrid crimes by their boogeyman illegals!
The ones they told us will rape us!  Now, this particular one did and I'm trying to make a point here.  However, if I have to type out that I'm trying to make a point, I'm not doing a very good job at it.
I don't like using the word illegals for people and I don't think people that get into the country without paperwork are rapists.

The hypocrisy of this ilk is mind rattling.

Justice is an agreement neither to harm nor be harmed

Epicurus promoted an innovative theory of justice as a social contract. Justice, Epicurus said, is an agreement neither to harm nor be harmed, and we need to have such a contract in order to enjoy fully the benefits of living together in a well-ordered society. Laws and punishments are needed to keep misguided fools in line who would otherwise break the contract. But the wise person sees the usefulness of justice, and because of his limited desires, he has no need to engage in the conduct prohibited by the laws in any case. Laws that are useful for promoting happiness are just, but those that are not useful are not just.
