Dorthea Lang censored photographs of the American Japanese in 1942

She was hired by the US govt to document the "evacuation" and "relocation" of Americans of Japanese descent.  Imagine being a productive citizen and business owner of the United States of American and being told you have x number of days to close and board up your shop before you have to uproot your family and live in a prison camp.  I can't imagine this.  In 1942!  My grandmothers and grandfathers were 13 and 15 at the time.  Check out the link below to view more photographs from this embarrassing scar in US History.
