How come...
...Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies are so delicious?
...Dean Martin's voice is gorgeous?

...I can't stop thinking about my baby? xo
Excuse simple blogs for now...

Observation #235 --Update.
My new shoes smell like puppy. This doesn't bother me one bit.
**Update**
Okay, it's kind of bothering me. It was really neat when all day yesterday I kept smelling puppy, which is a luxurious smell but didn't know why. It was an epiphany when I realized it was my new shoes that smelled like puppy and not some weird ass brain tumor or that my husband was somehow hiding a puppy in our house. A few hours after this confirmed observation it is getting on my nerves. I know it's not a puppy, it's my shoes. What kind of noxious off-gassing am I inhaling--strike that--are WE inhaling? --Yeah, I'm a We right now--Weird-- New shoe, new puppy smell is bothering me.
Also, I think I'm waaaaay off on the observation number...it's got to be over a million...a lifetime of observations only equals to a few hundred? I think not.

tie the yellow twiggy around the old oak tree
So I had this dream a bit ago...totally random: it was brought to my attention that the real reason Britain and Iran were at war was because an Iranian shot and killed Twiggy's boyfriend.
I swear I haven't thought about Twiggy in a while, nor Britain and Iran in any kind of combat. No clue why that flew on through, but then today I see this Headline:
Why Is Britain Ramping Up Sanctions Against Iran?
The answer?
TWIGGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy 176th Birthday!!
Thanks to Google, I realized that today is one of my favorite author's birthday. You still make me laugh, Mr. Clemens.
I don't like to commit myself about heaven and hell - you see, I have friends in both places.

What's up
So far so good. I am hungry, tired and puffy. I actually feel better than I have in awhile (B.P.). I'm not showing, so I still don't realize I'm harboring a tiny little kumquat of life inside me. Still, quick flashes of excitement rush over me. This is really happening! Crazy. :)
I'm not writing and not really drawing. How boring! I'm not giving up or anything--just taking a break, I guess. A waaaay too long break!
How about these Occupiers?! Gets my revolutionary blood moving. I'm totally with them in spirit, but it would be so cool to take action and join them for real. My laziness never ceases to amaze me. Campaign finance reform has to happen--this is getting ridiculous!
Have a fantastic day people of the world! Wakey Wakey(hey, you wake up too, ms. lazy ass)! xoxo, A

Bee-Jo

Yeah, I'm struggling to get anything posted. I have been drawing and writing occasionally. I have a little something I would like to get out before summer's end because I think it's a summer story since it has to do with a pool. Have I been reading any of your blogs, sadly, no. Have I been on the computer for entertainment--nope! This is something I drew after my lovely Grams died. She had dementia for several years and was hardly the grandma that I grew up knowing. She was related to Jeff East, who was the teenage Clark Kent in the first Superman
movie. I chose to represent the prison mirror as another dimension, but a prison mirror is a pretty good explanation for what she was going through too, I guess. I also added a few real life items that reminded me of her. Love ya Grams!

Lord Love a Duck

Tuesday Weld getting what she wants.
I love the description of this 1966 movie on the cable guide:
A California highschool genius (Roddy McDowall) works magic for a blond (Tuesday Weld) who wants cashmere and affection.
Ahhh, 1966.....

LOVE SLUG!
What a perfect way to try to resurrect a dying blog than to post slugs having sex! I tried to get it on video, but my camera kept dying. Out of the head of each slug grew translucent-blue ectoplasmic tendrils that were tightly intertwined. The two pulsating jellyfish tongues ebbed and waned as the twisted slugs swung by a spun slime rope. Enjoy! Apologies for the long wait. Thanks for stopping by! ~Andi

Old story ideas
Because I have nothing new in my head right now...
This is based on something my friend, kt, came up with:
It sits upon a hill. It is there because the school house before it sat there. How I would dream that we actually lived in the old school house. Built in 1909; Burned down in 1947. The charm of the wooden school house with its boxy bronze bell tower is more significant than the flat local limestone brick new age modern grammar school that took its place. I know that the bell is bronze because it's sitting in Mabel's Museum located in one of the old classrooms.
Mabel refurbishes things. She found the first of them in our basement. The old bronze bell, the photos from the past, old ink wells, a slightly charred globe, etc. She's set up a museum to the history of our home. She is much older than us. Mom had her when she was 3 days shy of her 15th birthday. Now, don't go thinking that we are a bunch of hillbillies. Mabel was brought here in an attempt to save a life. Our mother grew up in the mountains. She and her childhood friend, Marvin Maybee were trapped after an avalanche. The only way the two saw fit to survive was to create heat with their bodies. As much younger children they explored each others bodies in games of doctor and house, so it was fitting that their first sexual experience was to be with each other, well that's what mom always says. But it was their last. Well, it was Marvin Maybee's last. He didn't die a virgin and he managed to keep the Maybee bloodline going. This was very important to his parents for Marvin was to be the last surviving Maybee. Now Mabel Zircon Maybee is the last surviving Maybee. Zircon is the mountain on which she was conceived.
As I was saying, our house sits on a hill and as you may have surmised, we live in an old grammar school. You know that Mabel and I like old things. I dream of the past and Mabel resurrects it. I'm not sure if Mabel knows it, but she creates my perfect environment. I spend hours in her museum pretending to live in the past.
As a matter of fact, I'm sitting on a rug Mabel found in the grounds keeper's shed imagining being read a story whilst sitting by the pot belly stove. Well, I'm trying to concentrate on that, but I keep looking at one of Mabel's recent acquisitions, I'm not sure what it was used for--oh, here comes Mabel--she's carrying something.
"Fauna, what are you doing?"
She knows what I'm doing, so I won't answer, but "What did you find Mabel?"
"I'm not sure yet, I need to study it further."

teardrop

I'm completely fried for curiosities and imagination. I almost had a stream, but it got shut off somehow...I know it will come back, but for now, enjoy this picture of a trailer that is on my wish list. I think I crave a nomad lifestyle. Have a great weekend!
I like this quote from the movie, Club Dread:
"There's always one fuckhead like you trying to shit in the apple pie. Well you just shat in the one apple pie that knows how to shit back"

drunk off the world
I'm a little drunk off Boulevard Double IPA and an extremely dirty martini, but I thought I'd actually post some worthy information: After a year and nearly 3 months I am permanently employed!!!!
Yeah, I celebrated with a couple of drinks, so what? :) I'm feeling so happy right now! I had the best meal and the best drive along Wornall home. I must share with you that I love the Waldo buildings along Wornall--some are shitty and some are so charming! I love the contrast. My late grandfather grew up around there... I really feel like rambling, so just let me do it okay?
My stargazer lilies have bloomed. I have some pictures, but I can't seem to capture them like I want. I will post them as soon as I download them from my camera. Maybe I need to wait until next year to really feel the essence of them, for now I will just experience their beauty in real time and not try to capture the shit out of them.
My little sister got married last weekend, it was a blast! She and her husband were so happy and man, can they dance! What else? Oh yeah, went to Seattle to see my husband's mom and sister. Had an absolutely lovely time--saw my main man Ichiro get whooped by the Royals--the Royals! I was lucky enough to see Mt. Rainier on my last day!!
Okay, running out of juice. Gonna let you all be. I hope I will get back to regular blogging soon. Thanks for reading.
Peace out.
P.S. I'm digging the new Ariel Pink album....just sayin. -Out.

Cicada Summer Solstice
Yep, just heard my first cicada song of the year.
In other insect news:
I caught two caterpillars munching on my little Juneberry tree (one yesterday and one today). I put them in an old pickle jar. I will let you know the ID as soon as they emerge from their yet-to-be-made pupas. I know you all are on pins and needles. :)
Happy Summer Solstice! Enjoy the longest day! ~A

Observations
I have seen about 7 leopard slugs so far, but have you noticed how big the snails are this year? Huge shells and virile foots. I wonder if geologists can tell periods of heavy rain by the size of the shells in outcrops. This has been another deep thought by Crack Andy.
