Driver 8 take a break
Stuff I actually say while driving:
"Dude, I don't like inconsistent people. You either drive fast or you don't, motherfucker."
That could be a line in Fast and the Furious 8, Forever Furious. Ridiculous. If I liked hashtags I would probably have to file this under hashtag roadrage?
I am devising a reality show about driving. It will help people with road rage, remind drivers the rules of the road and teach or reteach drivers the best way to operate their vehicle. So reality clients would be bad drivers or those notorious for road rage. Of course there would be minor cases mixed in. Advisers will be impeccable drivers, former driving instructors and psychologists. I think it would be good for the public in general to learn/relearn driver etiquette or at least to get a conversation going.
Since I'm randomly on the subject, I am also trying to work out little messages that drivers can impart to one another. Because, sometimes you really are sorry. I keep picturing a round head light style sign that says "Sorry" or "Excuse Me" that you can read when you push a button to light up the sign. I guess that's the the 70s version. :) I'm sure the better/more technologically advanced way would be for each car to basically talk to each other. Maybe there would still be buttons inside the car that say "My fault" or "After you".
Might as well go for the fourfecta, my child LOVES cars. He tries to carry all of his toy cars in his hands. He makes an amazing car sound for his age (whatever that means). My husband and I might watch Chasing Classic Cars or Counting Cars every once in awhile, but we are not gear heads. Wheels are cool though, which seems to be why he's interested. It's like he learns from Caveman up. I hope fire is not next!

Good Morning Cat Puke!
A new CBS dramady about two zombie-tired parents of a teething baby with a freaked out dog and a psychotic puking cat.
Sure to be an instant classic, you will see scenes like, the mom in her car on the way to work pondering the state issued license plate that reads WH0 B4F. Deep in thought and sure the universe is trying to tell her, "Who before F?" she joins in on the music blaring, "What should we do with the baby-o, Every time the baby grins give that baby a bottle of gin, That's what we do with the baby....."
Coming this Fall!
Brought to you by Friskies and Boudreax's Butt-Paste.

Observation #12,564
When I'm at work or he's asleep, sometimes I have my baby's cry in my ear and sometimes his poo scent in my nose. It makes me miss him even more! :)

Good morning!
I woke up to my baby saying, "Mom"! He was really sounding it out and he was really talking about me! My day is set!
Another perk--four wild dogs or coyotes ran right by me...they all looked the same so I think they were coyotes. It would be kind of strange to see all the same breed of wild dogs hanging out in a pack, no? It was freaky and exhilarating!

The Beluga Sisters are Milk Machines
Things I've Observed and Learned on this Reproductive Female Mammalian Odyssey:
Let down feels like electricity
Drink lots of fluids or your supply will plummet
It's okay to nurse to sleep
It's okay to nurse on demand
Babe might nurse all day
Working mothers may have to supplement with Formula--it's okay! And I'm not as angry either.
Around 6 months the supply gets a little dodgy, thus the decision to supplement
Babe bites when teething and overreacting doesn't dissuade the biting, you must be vigilant
People think you are a hippy if you are still breastfeeding at 8+ months
It's against the law in my state to breastfeed in public, you must be discrete or it's indecent exposure
You don't leak/have to wear the pads after while, I think for me it was 6 months (?)
It's hilarious when the babe becomes a pro, he can trick feed-ha!
It doesn't matter if he just had a bottle at daycare, as soon as we get home he wants to nurse. I call it getting reacquainted :)
Breast milk heals wounds and apparently will unstuff a stopped up nose. I couldn't get it to last very long when I needed it though--in the middle of the night, trying to get a drop to fall in his nostril or squirting some milk on my finger to rub in his nose. Ridiculous!
I guess a breast fed baby never sleeps through the night?!?!
(Stopped with first child 2 weeks before his 2nd birthday...started weaning on his first birthday)
Update for the second time around---****
My experience:
Milk comes in quicker with the second babe.
She wasn't as ravenous as my first
But now she kind of is--because she's full force teething??!
Nursing through the night is exhausting yet I'm not really tired and somehow functioning?!
I'm still wearing pads at 8 months..I think I was 10 months up^ there.
I haven't had to supplement with formula yet and I probably won't have to since I have a good storage of frozen milk
Refer to the original list

Mo Bettah
Okay, forget that BS from earlier.
These are the frivolous items I wish for birthday gifts:
Brain Candy DVD
Watcher in the Woods by Florence Engel Randall
Ear buds
And at least one item from my Amazon Wish List that isn't baby related unless it is one of the vintage cartoons, like Cool McCool or Milton the Monster.
That is all.

Mini Rant: Politics + Belief = No
Why are politicians in the proselytizing business? This is all messed up. Just crunch some friggin numbers for christsakes! And regular math, please, not Voodoo economics. The job has nothing to do with religion.
To even post it irritates me, but this is what brought on this mini rant. An msnbc article with excerpts of Boehner's speech to Republican friends at the Ripon Society:
“But listen, we are Americans and we will figure this out. These next couple of weeks, next couple of months, frankly, the next 20 months, are going to be a very difficult period for us. While we want to stand up and fight for more fiscal responsibility, want to stand up and find a way to move tax reform that will help our economy grow, to do the things we believe in, we’re going to be doing it in an environment that is going to be far more hostile than anything that I think we’ve seen for a long, long time. We’re going to have to make some big decisions about how we as a party take on this challenge. Where’s the ground that we fight on? Where’s the ground that we retreat on? Where are the smart fights? Where are the dumb fights that we have to stay away from?"
We are Americans, dammit, we do things that we believe in.
We don't pick dumb fights.
-The next GOP slogans
Am I not thinking this through enough? Definitely. Do beliefs always have to be religious? Should politicians annex his or her beliefs when in public service? Can it be done? I know there are books written solely on this subject and it's too early for me to get into it. I guess I'm probably just up for ranting this morning. I don't know why, my baby slept really well last night--which means I got some sleep too.
I'm just a complainer, I guess. Happy Thursday. -A
