What New Zealand is doing:

I don't think we need weapons of war in civilian hands, but since it is hard enough to get a fucking background check, I propose that those who want to shoot an AR-15 be allowed to join a shooting range membership.  The shooting range is the only place these weapons will be discharged and the only place these weapons will be stored.  The shooting range will be responsible for the thoughtful, careful and secure storage of the owners guns.  Weapons of war should not be stored within neighborhoods, nor houses, nor within a certain distance from schools.  In an ideal world, the members of the shooting range will have a background check and a psychological review before being allowed in the club.

Meanwhile...how many weapons of war are floating around unsafely in the hands of unstable people whose anguished backwards views are increasingly incubated by unchecked social media platforms?

 I guess when you're 40 you have to start to learn how to work the body you occupy.  You take everything for granted until then...if you're lucky.  I guess some will have to learn much earlier, but I think the regular experience for humans is around 40.  It all seems to catch up to you at this time.  

All the stresses and anxieties come to a head.  You are no longer free from the ignorance of your mortality. Again, if you are lucky, like me, all the aches and pains are new, unknown and terrifying.  The accumulation of your neurosis meets a threshold and the body can no longer cope.  You are in a phase of tearing down your personality, if you're lucky, in order to shed the derangement of your psychosis.

Here is the IAPSOP archive of The Temple of Health and Psychic Review from Editor Dr. JM Peebles.  I found his anti-vaccine books in the library and looked him up.

Peebles also wrote a book called, How to Live a Century and Grow Old Gracefully, and was a member of the California Centenarian Club.  He almost lived to 100, just 36 days short.  

Per their website, The International Association for the Preservation of Spiritualist and Occult Periodicals (IAPSOP), started in 2009 and is a US-based private organization focused on the digital preservation of Spiritualist and occult periodicals published between the Congress of Vienna and the start of the Second World War.

I'm impressed by the size of the collection of journals and ephemera for this ad hoc outfit.  I'm just now getting into it, but it seems to be organized really well and I love the titles IAPSOP's archives have to offer!
